I am writing to remind you that travel in west London will be affected on Sunday 25 and Monday 26 August, when more than a million people are expected to visit the annual Notting Hill Carnival.
|
There will be additional buses serving the Carnival; some local routes will be on diversion, including route 27. Ladbroke Grove Tube station will be closed. Other stations in the area will be exit only and stations may also close temporarily to prevent overcrowding. Also, local Barclays Cycle Hire docking stations will be suspended.
The RMT have called a strike on London Overground on Sunday and Monday. If the strike goes ahead, disruption is expected on some London Overground services. Please check before you travel by visiting tfl.gov.uk |
|
A large number of road closures will be in place from 07:00 – 03:00 on both days including Harrow Road, Notting Hill Gate, Clarendon Road and Queensway. Traffic is likely to be slow moving. Road users are advised to avoid the area if possible or to allow more time for journeys. |
If you are planning to attend the Carnival or to travel in the area, please plan ahead by visiting tfl.gov.uk/nottinghill | |
